Universal Health Care

I’ve tried to swear off posts that are just links to news stories, but I think the current attempt by the US Government’s to take over the health care of Americans deserves a post pointing to a few stories, especially since the mainstream media really isn’t covering this issue in a responsible way.

• CNS News is reporting that the Health Care bill funds “vaccine teams” who will go house to house to vaccinate children who haven’t been brought in for their vaccines. Just what we need—I’m from the vaccine police, and I’m here to vaccinate your children no matter whether or not you agree with it.
• The Wall Street Journal opinion page has been providing coverage on the issue, including one article on how the rules of the game are being changed in mid-stream, and another discussing the tradeoffs between health care and freedom (and there is a tradeoff here—the government controlling health care will destroy our freedom).
• One of the various ways the health care bill includes is a “surtax” on anyone making more than $350,000 a year. If the savings projected in the bill don’t materialize, then the tax would be increased to cover any additional expenses. I don’t need to explain why this surtax is such a horrible idea.
• The Heritage Foundation has a chart showing the true cost of this universal health care coverage. The folks working on this bill have misled the citizens of this Country by saying it will “only” cost $13 trillion over ten years—but the program doesn’t start until four years from now, so the first four years of those ten years have no costs!
• For anyone who thinks you will be able to keep your private insurance once the new government run health care comes into being, you’re wrong. IBD turned up a clause in the bill that clearly states private insurers will not be able to write new policies once the government run system is in place. So Mr. Obama isn’t technically lying when he says you don’t have to give up your current insurance, he’s just not telling you that no matter what happens, your next health care plan will be through the government, whether you like it or not.

This is serious stuff, folks, it could change the face of America forever. Of course, the general plan is to throw so many horrible ideas out there that people get tired of fighting, that you just lose it in the fog of war, that no-one can read everything all the time. This entire game is wrong, and is clearly designed to destroy the US. I only pray God will grant us a reprieve from the judgment Mr. Obama and his minions represent.
